The Embedded Linux Conference (ELC) is the premier vendor-neutral technical conference for companies and developers using Linux in embedded products. This conference, now in its 9th year, has the largest collection of sessions dedicated exclusively to embedded Linux and embedded Linux developers. David Stewart is Senior Director of Security Mitigation in Intel's System Software Products, a global team addressing CPU-based security attacks in cloud, dynamic languages, databases, middleware and virtualization. David partners with cloud service providers and operating system vendors and hardware architects to resolve and mitigate issues. David has been an operating systems and compiler expert for his whole career, starting out with Unix in 1980. David serves on various boards including the Yocto Project Advisory Board and the CE Linux Working Group, both part of the Linux Foundation. Before the formation of his current team, David held a variety of management positions in Intel’s Software and Services Group and in Intel’s Desktop Boards and Systems division. Prior to joining Intel in 1997, David held management and engineering positions in consumer software product development and operating system development, including Sequent, Tektronix, and CFI. David holds a BS and MS in Computer Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, which he received in 1983. David has given keynotes and presentations in over 50 technical conferences.
